For over 40 years Walt Bayless has been empowering people from Navy Seals to nannies with his unique and internationally renowned style of Martial Arts.
And while that his been a great passion, for longer still Walt has been crafting and creating as a relentless Visual Artist as well. There on his paper or canvas Walt diligently records one battle after another as he channels visions, voices and stories from this world and beyond. From the age of primal beings to the modern era, and then off again to impossible realms unknown, the images call out to be realized in in wild Shamanic fashion.
Walt’s style is as fluid and varied as his paintings themselves, and he freely admits that when he steps into his studio that there is just no knowing where he will be swept off to.
Author of four critically acclaimed Children’s books and painter of a thousand worlds, Walt’s pencil and brushes are never still for long. All that really matters to him now is that this world is somehow made a better and more beautiful place with each new heartfelt piece of work.

I fell in love with drawing at around three or four years old. After that Frank Frazetta and a thousand other artists held my hand until I found my own way. Today I paint anything that stirs my heart.
Traditional watercolor technique never clicked with and so, like everything else in my life it seemed, I had to develop my own methods and process. I literally paint without thinking now, letting the process become an act of love and joy. Each painting then is a record of a beautiful moment for the artist as well as, I hope, for the viewer as well.
The first chapter of my working life was filled with a dual existence between physical competition/coaching and illustration. It was hard work and great training, but this second chapter I've devoted solely to what I call spirit painting and it's been my only way to create now for the last twenty years. I love the work that flows from that heartfelt place and, in addition to enjoying my work far more, I have absolutely loved the clients and friends that I've made along the way.
